"Old Songs, New Songs" was recorded at the end of the sixties. Family had released two albums but had recently split with their management company. The band decided that they would go into the studio and rerecord and remix some of their earlier tunes to the style that the band felt suited them better than the original recordings whilst also putting down some new songs - hence "Old Songs, New Songs".
